MODERN THEATRE - Lea Padovani Theater, Montalto di Castro
Lea Padovani Theater
Lea Padovani Theater: modernity gets cozy
Contrasting concrete and wood
Designed by Mdu Architetti of Prato, the Lea Padovani Theater exhibits a monolithic presence consisting of two large parallelepipeds, one glass and concrete. The boldly modern presence is accented by the glass portion, which blends with the sky during the day, while transforming into a ‘large lantern’ lit from within at night. TMA contributed to the interior development with the Aida line of armchairs in materials that harmonize with the wood-panelled walls. The 400seats feature a dark neutral fabric seat and back with an exposed solid beech wood armrest.

MONUMENTAL
In memory of Lea Padovani
The theater project provides a new face to the entire area, which encompasses the archaeological area of Vulci and the massive Alessandro Volta Power Plant. The structure itself is dedicated to Lea Padovani, an actress who studied alongside Vittorio Gassman at the Silvio D’Amico Academy in Rome. Padovani was born in 1923 in MontaldodiCastro, the town that hosts this beautiful modern theater.
