Carani Theater in Sassuolo recently renovated with the installation of nearly 600 seats from TMA Italia’s Alla Scala line, is a symbol of architectural and cultural excellence.
Inaugurated on December 25, 1930, the theater was conceived by cousins Mario and Eugenio Carani and designed by engineer Zeno Carani. Built in just ten months, it represented an example of modernity thanks to the pioneering use of reinforced concrete, a cutting-edge solution for the time. The structure, equipped with an opening dome for natural cooling, combined innovation and functionality, becoming a prestigious venue for Sassuolo. Since its opening, Carani Theater has established itself as a space dedicated to entertainment and culture, attracting local audiences and visitors thanks to its elegance and ability to host major events.

Among the most significant upgrades is the modular seating system, composed of modules of 2, 3 and 4 seats side by side, which allows the space to be quickly transformed. Thanks to a hideaway (reetractable) system, the theater can change in minutes from an entirely furnished room with seats to a completely free space, ideal for hosting events with a standing audience. This versatility makes Carani Theater a modern facility, capable of adapting to the needs of contemporary events without sacrificing the charm of tradition.
The main hall, with its elegant horseshoe-shaped floor plan, Murano glass chandelier and renovated seats, continues to be a landmark for plays, operas, variety shows and cultural events, consolidating Sassuolo as a major cultural hub.
